Mr. Axel Caballero is the CEO of the Latino Film Institute and previously headed the content and artist innovation studio OneFifty at Warner Bros. Discovery and HBO. He is also the former Executive Director of the National Association of Latino Independent Producers (NALIP), Founder and Executive Producer of the production studio Cuentame, Latino Lens incubators, and Goodness Films media company. His credits include serving as Producer of Roberta (2022) documenting Roberta Flack’s place as the first artist to win back-to-back Grammy Awards for “Record of the Year” with The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face (1973) and Killing Me Softly with His Song (1974), and executive producer of Windows (2016), Swimming in the Desert (2022), and Bertie the Brilliant (2022). In 2013 his Social Revolucion production from Cuentame received a “Best of SXSW” (South by Southwest) award for best social impact content. In 2021 the films he generated and led at Warner Bros. OneFifty Studios garnered an Emmy nomination, eight Academy Award nominations and an Academy Award win. Mr. Caballero hails from Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico by way of Arizona, the University of California at San Diego, and the University of Utrecht where he earned his LL.M in international law and found his wife.
