Josué Reyna is a leadership strategist with nearly 15 years of experience in public education. As Chief Communications Officer for Poway Unified School District —serving nearly 35,000 students — he leads strategic marketing and communications, crisis communications, public relations, and community engagement initiatives that strengthen the district’s reputation and community trust. His leadership is distinguished by a commitment to challenging outdated public relations practices while upholding the foundational principles of effective communication. His work has earned national recognition, including a Golden Achievement Award and a 35-Under-35 Award from the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA), and the inaugural Classified Champion Award from the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) Region XIX. His leadership extends beyond PUSD as he also serves on the boards of CalSPRA, PRSA-Inland Empire, the Commission on Public Relations Education, and the Poway Education Foundation. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA), a Master of Science in Management and Leadership (MSML), and the Accreditation in Public Relations (APR), and is trained as an Advanced Public Information Officer (APIO) through FEMA.
