About me
With over 30 years of experience in K-8 education, Erich Zeller’s passion for learning and teaching has only grown deeper. His first experience came as a bilingual elementary teacher in Los Angeles. Coming to the United States as a Spanish speaking, 8-year-old immigrant from South America, Erich identified with his students and their families. As a classroom teacher, Erich developed an affinity for inquiry based Math and Science instruction as a way of engaging all students. During an extensive career focused on Math Education, he has designed and conducted teacher workshops around the country focusing on increasing teachers’ mathematics content knowledge for teaching Mathematics. A seasoned instructor and speaker, Erich has presented at NCTM and NCSM Annual Conferences. For the past 15 years at MIND Research Institute, Erich has been involved in creating interactive digital content based on how the brain learns math. Currently, Erich leads a team of curriculum designers building out the latest ST Math curriculum while using student data to improve the next generation of ST Math content . As part of MIND Research Institute’s Content Creation Team, Erich focuses on creating engaging interactive content that leverages neuroscience and digital tools to provide all students and teachers access to rigorous mathematics. Erich is a graduate of UCLA with a bachelors in Philosophy with a focus on epistemology and a masters in School Administration.
