Charice Guerra brings over 20 years of experience advancing educational equity for underserved students, with a deep focus on English Learners. She began her career as a middle school English teacher in Ventura County and went on to co-develop a model ELD program as a teacher on special assignment.
Charice has held leadership roles at the Ventura County Office of Education and Fillmore Unified School District, where she served as Principal and Director of Curriculum and Instruction and led a districtwide SEAL implementation, including launching six SEAL-based preschool programs.
Now a Director at SEAL, she leads the organization’s most flexible professional development series, partnering with schools and districts to deliver tailored, research-backed training in areas such as oral language development, early learning, and dual language instruction.
Charice is also the Chair of California’s Instructional Quality Commission and co-founder of 805 EL Advocates, a volunteer group supporting English Learners and their families.
