Benito Aranda-Comer (he/him) is a TK-12 Policy Analyst at EdTrust-West, where he leads work in the organization’s Educator Diversity and Math Equity portfolios. His focus includes advancing efforts to recruit and retain racially and linguistically diverse educators and ensuring that students of color and multilingual students have equitable access to opportunities in Mathematics. A former 8th-grade English teacher in Houston, Texas, Benito’s classroom experience underscored the systemic inequities in education and inspired his transition into education policy. He earned his Master of Public Policy from Georgetown University, where he served as Co-President of the McCourt Education Policy Initiative. Benito holds a B.A. in History and Latin American Studies from Rice University and a Certificate in Education Finance from Georgetown’s McCourt School of Public Policy.
