A Critical Time for Dual Enrollment
Friday June 27, 2025 10:00am - 11:00am PDT
California’s Dual Enrollment landscape has evolved rapidly in recent years. In the past decade we’ve seen the creation and refinement of CCAP as well as other dual enrollment programs. Supported by Governor Newsom and Chancellor Christian of the CCC, the state has made a strong commitment to embracing dual enrollment as the premier vehicle forward to further the state’s high school, college, trade, and workforce needs. Within this context, Career Ladders Project (CLP) has done extensive work on technical assistance to advance the field, while EdTrust-West (ETW) has been a strong legislative advocate to marry research with policy change. Both organizations release resources to help students, parents, practitioners, administrators, advocates, and legislative champions alike. Please join us to see how our collaborative approach particularly affects California’s Latinx community and gain tools for support at a number of levels.

Empowering Immigrant Families: A Panel on Strategic Communication, Partnerships, and Advocacy
Friday June 27, 2025 1:45pm - 2:45pm PDT
In today’s evolving landscape of shifting immigration policies and growing uncertainty, immigrant families face challenges that extend far beyond the school walls — impacting their safety, sense of belonging, and opportunity. Latino communication leaders are standing at the forefront of public education’s response, using strategic, culturally responsive communications and deep partnerships with trusted community organizations to strengthen family structures and safeguard educational access.

This panel will explore how communications can do more than inform — they can unify communities, empower families, and defend against those seeking to marginalize them. Panelists will share how some districts prepared early by building strong networks of trust, while others are developing new strategies to meet today’s urgent needs.

Together, they will highlight how resilient communication ecosystems can foster trust, uphold the dignity of every student and family, and ensure that public education remains a beacon of hope, safety, and opportunity.

Attendees will leave inspired and equipped with actionable strategies to center advocacy, resilience, and empowerment at the heart of their communication practices.
